Service acceptance is required. Research participation is separate.
Critsly separates the consent needed to operate your account from optional research, showcase, or case-study use.
Required at registration
- Confirm that you are 18 or older, or are using Critsly through an authorized educator, institution, parent, or guardian arrangement.
- Accept the Terms of Use.
- Acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
- Allow Critsly to process account, board, upload, usage, and AI-request data needed to provide the service.
Optional consent
Research participation, identifiable case-study use, public showcase use, workshop analysis, or use of identifiable artefacts beyond normal service delivery requires a separate opt-in or study-specific consent process where applicable. Declining optional research consent should not prevent normal use of Critsly.
Normal service data
Used for login, boards, uploads, critique, AI features, collaboration, media playback, support, security, billing, and service analytics.
Educator or institution data
Schools, educators, or administrators may receive board, critique, analytics, and audit views needed to run a class, studio, pilot, or institution account.
Research data
Collected only when an approved study context and consent settings are active. Research exports should include consented participants and approved fields only.
Data rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, export, or consent withdrawal for eligible personal data. Some data may need to be retained for security, legal, audit, billing, institutional, or backup reasons.
